But of course, the main thrust of the visit wasn't canines, it was cardboard. We went to Stadium Cards & Comics in Ypsilanti. We've been there before, but I don't think I delved into their vintage as much the first time.
Knocked out a bunch more 17-18 O-Pee-Chee hockey, including a lot of the Retros - which I had the list for this time. Also picked up another Manon classic to fill those back in.
A six-pack of 70's football to inch closer to those set builds. Back when the Browns were relevant before this year.
But the "big" story was baseball ~ particularly '75 minis. Both Pujols for the '57 Heritage year from a box of cheap stars, as well as the fi-dolla Leflore auto. Throw in Bo Museum for that PC, a '68 checklist, and an unmarked replacement for the '77 Yankees.
Got a nice deal on these key minis. And check the quality. Munson has some edge wear, but the rest are nicely centered and pretty sharp.
Both solo Aarons are good looking specimens...
...and I couldn't have asked for a nicer Brett rookie. It's probably better than it's full size brother.
When we got to the shop, I thought it was another place we had scored a load of football from in the recent past. But I wasn't disappointed with what I came away with for sure.
Nice looking vintage all around, I especially like the football though. Photo wise, the Brodie is a nice looking card.
ReplyDeleteGee whiz, I don't know how much I would have to pay for a Brett mini that looked like that. Mine's OK, but there's definitely wear. And I'm even more impressed by the Aaron. It's so difficult to find one not way off center.
ReplyDeleteReally like the hockey and the Hank Aaron pickups.
ReplyDeleteDang. Those 75's are gorgeous. Congratulations on finding a good deal on cards of that condition.
